Meet our Egg-ecutives
The Founding Flock

We'd be remiss not to give credit where credit is due, so allow us to formally introduce the feathered friends who've been contributing fresh eggs rich in high-quality protein behind the scenes of Harvest Bar production.
We dubbed our core quartet Quinn, Sandy, Stacy, & Tiffany as a nostalgic nod to the sometimes featherbrained Fashion Club from Daria. Fittingly, when we first drove them home as pullets (or teenage chickens) they seemed strangely soothed by the sounds of 90's alt-rock. The rest, as they say, is history.
Over the past three years, our highly social hens have lived up to both their namesakes & breed description. In addition to being social in nature, our Golden Comets have also been hardy & productive, laying a brown egg a day each come rain or shine. Today, our Golden Comets are closer to their Golden Girls era. Sassy as ever, but slowing down, they've unofficially retired —spending their days sunning, terrorizing the family dog, & gifting us with only the occasional egg.
Enter the Heathers

With the OG crew easing into their golden years, the time felt right to add some fresh energy to the flock. Recently, we welcomed 3 Rhode Island Reds into the mix.
Naming the young newcomers has proven more challenging than expected given that the individual nuances of their personalities remain to be seen. After some crowdsourcing (& a fair bit of laughter), we landed on: Heather, Heather, & drumroll please...Heather. Yes, borrowed from yet another nostalgic cult-classic, The Heathers.
In time as their quirks begin to shine through, we'll put some respect on their names by extending their monikers to include Chandler, McNamara, & Duke respectively. Until then, the Heathers are happily settling in & finding their place alongside our retired Golden Girls.
